This is me at 216 lbs. (woman on right) I am at 199 after 7 weeks of calorie deficit, high protein diet but not seeing a difference in the mirror. My size 16 jeans were too big so I am now wearing a 14 which is a victory. I’m just wondering how much weight I have to lose before it’s noticeable in the mirror. When did you start to notice your weight loss?

I just had that same conversation with a family member as I've lost about 21 pounds in the 6 weeks or so and I don't "see" it but my family does. I think that is in part because we "see" ourselves all the time in the mirror and while you may not notice small changes, others probably do - especially since you are down a size already. GREAT job, by the way. Give it a little more time and I'll bet you will suddenly see it - like maybe another 5 pounds or so...

Terrific start! Mirror changes can be hard to discern, especially if you are impatient like me. Stay focused on your diet grind and soon enough people at work will start to make comments. You will know that you are killing it when your "friend" shows up at your desk one morning with uninvited cupcakes.

to see a difference in the mirror is hard, smaller clothes is a victory! do you measure? or take pics and compare after a month?

Do you remember seeing the difference when you went up a pound at a time? Me either! It’s like that. Keep it up you are doing well!

Sometimes I STILL feel like I don't see a difference, to be fair, and then other days I barely recognize my reflection. You know it's happening if your clothes size is going down!! 😁

So you “feel the need? The need for speed?” 😉 I think it takes 20-30 pounds to be noticeable to yourself in mirror. Depends on your start weight. Your clothing size is a huge indicator of success! PS I love your Maverick & Goose couples shirts! Top Gun 2 will comes out on July 2!

The clothes don't lie or play tricks on us like our brains! I'm down 35lbs and when I look at myself the only difference I see is a bit of a turkey neck. But clothes are getting looser and my teen noticed! My brain may lie, but when my 15 year old says something positive when she has nothing to gain it must be true!

I noticed the fit in my clothes - I am usually unaware of the visual changes as I get caught up in my skewed perspective. My wife is the one who spots it first.

that's a huge win. my clothes are very tight on my now, clothes that used to loose. matches the scale unfortunately. i'd say by 50 lbs you'll definately notice a difference. for me after about 30 i think i'll definately notice it in my appearance but even 10 will help with clothes. i can't wait. i'm doubling down my efforts. so sick of the way i feel for get about how i look

Well, I've lost about 20lbs (and I was only a few pounds out of the healthy range) and I've gone down a couple of sizes, but I still don't see that much of a difference. It depends on the image of yourself at the end of weight loss you have in mind. Mine is a very thin version of myself, so I'd need to lose another 20lbs to really see it. I don't believe in judging by the mirror, sometimes you don't notice stuff yourself and sometimes you imagine progress when there isn't any. I like actual feedback - the scale and measurements. Just looking is too subjective.

All good comments and advice here...we feel changes in how our clothing fits first. And then, other people will start making comments to you about your weight loss. I feel like we are our own worst enemies in most cases, and that we also may have a skewed perspective of ourselves in the mirror. The image I carry in my head, or my mental picture of physical beauty is a tall, willowy, slender woman who can look graceful in anything she wears. Big laugh out loud!!! I am 5'2" tall and currently weigh 175 - down in the last several years from an all-time high of 236. I was a butterball. I feel better and look slimmer, but as always, I'm super critical of my physical appearance. No matter how skinny I get (if ever), I will always be a petite frame on a stocky body type. I thank God for my strong and relatively healthy body. Now, if my head could just get straight, and if I could learn to be kinder to myself and actually experience a little more self-love...you look beautiful to me. Just keep up the good work, you WILL get there. All things worth having, take TIME and effort.

Self image is a crazy thing. What I see in pics is not the same as what I see in the mirror and I still feel like I’m 290+. Sometimes when I’m doing laundry I look at jeans and for just a second I think whose are those...

Sadly I’ve been on this journey twice. I notice room in my clothes after about 12# probably because they were too tight to start with. but other people make comments at about 30#. And then the size changes are frequent and fast

we are our worse enemy but we have to encourage ourselves We feel better we decided to make a change in our lives and we're willing to carry it out. Hi five yourself.

Look at pictures taken before you lost the weight. You will be amazed at the difference in the pictures when you don't think you look any different!

I have to lose at least 20# before I can see it.

NSV’s non-scale victory’s are always great! (my wife does the same) But, watching that scale drop is really the only dependable source of truth IMO. And you are doing great! 👍💪 ✌️You’ll thank yourself for taking those before pictures!

When I was 296# it took a looong time for people to notice...at least 50 pounds. I think at a certain weight every 10 pounds makes a big difference. And of course the people that see you daily won't notice for awhile but it's when you run into someone you haven't seen that really will tell you how different you look. Congrats! Keep pushing! And unsure if anyone else said it, but measure in addition to weighing. 💪🏼🤸
