Oh my goodness. I have been so good for weeks now and broke my diet today during dinner. My boyfriend's sister was in town, visiting from the east coast, so he took her and me out to a very nice Italian restaurant. Wow. I decided to treat myself with a pesto linguini and a dark-and-milk chocolate dessert. Oh my. It was almost like I was a wild horse that got loose again after being taken in captivity. I was ravenous! I didn't leave anything on my plate. Wow. I ate about 1400 for dinner, which is drastically different from the usual 500 or so that I consume.

So now I have a tummy ache and a guilty conscience. I feel full! It had been awhile since I'd felt like this. It's funny how I missed this feeling, and find it so terrible today. I don't understand why I would miss such an icky feeling. I want to ask myself, "How could you do this to yourself?" Scream, "you effed up when you were doing so good!"

But I won't. I won't make myself feel horrible. I will wait for my tummy ache to calm down, get a good night's rest and then wake up to do a good strength training workout with a focus on lower abs. I will jump back on the bandwagon. I have to tell myself I'm strong enough to do so. I'm glad my tastebuds got a kick tonight, but want to remember this bloated feeling. It's not fun and doesn't make the party in my mouth worth it.

Goodbye icky feeling of being full! Hello weight loss wagon!

It's just one day Diea! That's right! Don't worry about it! :) It won't affect your weight loss routine! It probably raised your metabolism, which may compensate on the next day or two when you resume your usual diet. I've seen in a documentary that we tend to binge more when we skip meals or are hungry! :)

I appreciate your words! I think it did alter my metabolism. I feel so full already and I'm barely at 1095 calories today! That is so weird for me.

That's great! Lately I've been feeling the other way around but I'm going to start weight training in some days so I hope it sort of balances out lol.

Weight training is all I do now, really. I used to be a runner but am now nursing my left foot and trying to work with doctors to figure out what happened. It's a good thing, though. I think my body needed to rest form all that running, plus I work out more regularly now instead of only 3-4 times a week. I get a worker in almost every morning! I heard once too that women benefit more from strength/weight training than cardio.

I was a runner too! :) What a coincidence! It's too bad about the ankle though! Running will sometimes promote the strengthening of your joints, bones etc, because of the impact. Other times, it does does the opposite maybe when the stress outweighs the strengthening. I'm not sure. I quit running after a problem in my lower back but I'm not sure if I got it because of the running itself since, once, I lost my balance and I fell back about 3 or 4 ft, landing on my feet but without flexing my knees, and that was the first time I felt that pain lol. It was the stupidest injury ever, if that's how I contracted it (still not sure). Maybe it was a mixture of it and running... Running gives you a lightness on your feet that's hard to achieve with other exercises but it's definitely good to stop when you have an injury such as yours. Heed recovery times in weight training! :) If you hit a "wall" in your progress, that's probably not enough recovery time. Strength training, from what I've heard, raises your metabolism more and has a bigger after-burn effect. But I would continue doing cardio too because of its health benefits like your cardiovascular system etc :). That's what I heard at least.
