My mom has been making healthy dinners every night because she found out she has diabetes :( I feel so bad for her I hope she doesn’t lose her love for food

So sorry to hear that! If you don’t mind me asking, is it type 1 or 2? Really either way, diabetes is completely manageable with lots of self care. Good on her for starting better nutrition.

I sincerely sympathize with your mother and I hope she will be fine. I have prediabetes and have changed my diet too. It's good that your mom has you, you can support her. It is happiness for a mother to have such kind and loving children. I am also a mother of two wonderful children. I wish you all the best!

Type 2 is very treatable and in some cases, can be reversed to pre-diabetes with good nutrition and self care. Yes, how lucky she is to have you in her life.

There are so many great foods that are low in sugar - just takes some time to readjust. Cauliflower is extremely multipurpose and can be substituted for mashed potatoes (I boil a head with one potatoe and mash with garlic, butter and milk) and rice.
