I am trying not to expect the worst. We had our meeting today and voluntary layoffs are to be discussed by management tonight. 5 people so far were permanently laid off, and my superior has said that they are not finished. I think we all expect the axe tomorrow. Lets just say I honestly wouldn't be terribly suprised if it was me. *shrugs* I suppose I should think of it as a window not a door right?

Oh my! You must be pretty stressed out!! Do you have any back up plans? I work for a Marriott hotel and let me tell you, two weeks ago, they laid off 100 people from another Marriott property not far from me. They also went from having 3 managers per property to only 2. I'm scared that I might be laid off soon as well, but I've already started looking for a second job just in case. If I don't get the axe, well I can use the extra income, and if I do, well then I at least won't be out of a job.

Thank you for the encouragement :) I usually do have a second job (waitressing at a supper club) but they decided to close down from December 1st till April 1st. Usually we're only off till the day after Christmas. It's been scary but I've finally realized...it's not going to be the end of the world. It'll suck because I've been there almost 7 years and my waitressing job almost 10 but, it'll be an open window. :) I know I'm not the only one in this position...So keep your heads up kids :)
