THE HOLIDAY CHALLENGE CONTINUES. GO SNOW FLAKES!!!

I'm not doing so good on the exercise thing. I think I blew my day of rest yesterday!! ha!

We have a stationary bike in the basement - But I don't use it. I am going to admit it...I'm embarrassed to use it. I know that sounds so weird. But I am. It would be different if it got used by other people. But if I go down there, I will be the only one that has used it in years. Its in the back of the utility room. Way back in the corner. My father set up an exercise room down there many years ago. There's a TV and everything. But I can't get over the idea that its next to the furnace and in a room with a low ceiling...and, most of all, that I'm all by myself in there.

Once again, I come to the conclusion that dieting is a lonely thing.

You know, my excuse makes no sense. I mean, I wait until everyone goes to sleep before I do yoga in the living room. And I'm not embarrassed to work out at the gym. So what is the deal with this....???

I decided that I'm going to ask my sister to come exercise with me just a couple days a week. One of us can lift weights while the other one uses the bike and we can trade off. But I worry about depending on someone else to do this for me. I should just be able to do it! And because she is now working I'm not sure if we can find an hour when we both can do this.

Am I talking myself into this or out of it?????

I'll stop now.

The diet part is going okay. I keep forgetting I'm trying to do Induction. Staying under the 20 carb limit hasn't been an issue, but I keep eating foods I shouldn't really have on induction. Its hard to give those things up that you are used to depending on - like peanut butter!!!

If you know PB doesn't stall you and you stick to one serving, I don't see anything wrong with having it occasionally on a modified Induction. As far as lonely dieting, I guess you could look at it that way. No matter how supportive my husband is, he is not dieting or exercising with me. We both have a gym membership (and when I suggest we discontinue his he disagrees) but I am the only one who goes on a regular basis. I am the one that cooks and plans meals and I cannot control his choices outside of home. I am alone too, but we aren't alone here together. I think you should re-evaluate why you are embarrased to work out at home in front of your family. Are you afraid of being mocked? Are you afraid they are going to think you are judging them? Just try to figure out why. As far as using the home gym, the hard part will be getting INTO a routine. Just do it once and see how it goes. Or plan to do it every other day for a week to see how you like it. Maybe get a DVD player for the downstairs TV so you can do your yoga down there whenever you want to. Don't depend on someone else. I tried to do that and when "whoever" didn't come along I felt I had an excuse to slack off too. Let's just say it didn't work. If your sister can join you once a week just for fun, then do it, but don't depend on her to keep you motivated. Only YOU can keep yourself motivated. We can help, though. :)

Exercising with someone has its downfalls. Did this for awhile with my sister and a friend. Schedules wouldn't work or things would come up and it would give me an excuse not to go. Now, I go by myself and I love it. I can go at the time that's always convenient for me and I'm responsible for myself. Get over the hump and get going Paige, you can do it!

I agree with kimbulie. I'm better off doing exercise on my own ( although I'm not doing ANY exercise right now...LOL) If you feel that you want to do exercise on your own when no one is around, that's OK! The important thing is to DO IT. Looks like you're doing great on the food plan! Hang in there!! :)
