As day 6 of my diet comes to a close, I decided to reflect on some things. So far this diet has been really easy to follow, but not much is different than my last couple attempts that barely made it past day 3. I think the biggest difference is that this time I have the full support of my mom, who wasn't very helpful the last times. That and this diet seemed almost fated lol.
I went to the doctor on the 2nd who said I really needed to get the weight off to be healthy, and that even weight loss surgery might be an option for me if dieting doesn't work. Then on Sunday me and my mom went up to the dump and looked at the Trash or Treasure like we usually do, and sitting there in a pile of books was a like new copy of The South Beach Diet. I took it as a sign (and also took the book).
So here I am. I don't know if I've lost any weight yet because I don't have a scale that goes high enough. My boyfriend ordered one online though so it should be here sometime next week. I do know that I feel better. I feel like I have more energy, and I feel excited to actually be doing something to get healthier. And oh my God if it works... well I can't even imagine. I can't imagine what it would be like to be skinny because I haven't been skinny since I was FIVE. I can't wait.
