I've been watching the TV series Thintervention with Jackie Warner. I'm closely following Jeanna Keogh since she is just a few years younger than me and wants to loose approximately the same weight. Every week she loses 1 or 2 pounds. Jackie keeps telling her she must be lying since she should be losing more. This certainly flies the face of everything I've learned about weight loss, including the extreme CR people. They say to lose slowly. Jackie says that her clients should be losing up to 5 lbs a week, although I can't remember seeing that except once. It's true there is another client that is losing an average of 3 lbs per week and she's 48, but there is a huge different between 48 and 54. Menopause!
Anyway, the women are eating 1300 calories a day, which is what I am doing. I'm not sure how much exercise they are getting per day. I know that when Jackie is with them they have had to run up to 3 miles doing weights in between. I can run 3 miles fairly easily on my treadmill, and I bike ride at a fairly fast pace for over an hour. So, I guess this means if I'm only losing 1.5 lbs means that I need to work out more. I have been weighing and measuring every morsel that goes in my mouth so I know I'm eating 1300 calories or slightly less. Should I try to lose more than 2 lbs per week? Is 3 actually possible?
