So today was good and bad. I was exhausted allllll day, which was a big bummer. I think it may be this past weekend with my friends at Cape Cod catching up with me. Anyway, I got was a lot more active today during the time I'm supposed to be teaching swim lessons, because the first hour's worth were canceled. So my fellow guards and I spent the time going off the diving boards and chicken fighting, lol. And I went on a Starbucks run for all my coworkers, and only got a tall iced vanilla latte (90 calories, not bad for Starbucks drinks!). So that was good. Then I went to my other lifeguarding job, where my manager and I had a fight with the floaty noodle things for a while, and I got chased around deck with various water carrying things, so I wasn't totally sedentary lol.

However, I was planning on running today after my lifeguarding shift, but thunderstorms prevented me going outside, and my excessive fatigue kept me from doing anything at all. On top of that, I went out to dinner with my mom and sister. While I was proud of myself for not completely pigging out on the free bread and ordering a salad at Cheesecake Factory, my mom, sister and I all split an appetizer, and then I kept tasting my sister's pasta dish. We finished with decaf skim cappucino, and I had some of the whipped cream from my sister's dessert. Then when we got home, I had 2 homemade sugar cookies.

So yeah... the willpower thing is kind of a major issue. I know that avoiding sweets will keep me from wanting them, but HOW am I supposed to avoid homemade sugar cookies?! UGH.

So tomorrow, I plan on getting up early to go for a run. Not as long as my 7.7, but I want to do 4-ish, plus a couple hills and Day 2 of the Hundred Pushup Challenge.

I'm still having a really hard time with the 40-40-20 ratio of eating, though... lately the fat percent has been through the roof! :(

Hopefully I don't wake up feeling too gross in the morning.

40-40-20 is hard and i think i can only do it on extreme workout days, maybe only 30 on the protein even then though. my body doesn't feel good when i have too much protein! it's not so great at digesting protein. there's no way that you will be able to live your life without cookies! i took a peek at your diet calendar because i was surprised you said your fat intake was outta control. if you need a treat you can opt for lower fat options, i swear :) like angelfood cake, which has around 0 fat. and since there are homemade cookies lying all over your house it seems (poor you) you could try my peanut butter cookie recipe that is lower in fat as a healthier option you could share. you can substitute whole wheat for the flours and starch. i will make a sugarless version soon and leave out the butter too to make it even healthier :) also, you could switch to using egg whites in your scramble with just 1 whole egg. i can't do the all egg white thing. you can buy all egg whites (at least here you can) in a little carton for $3. it has a ton of egg whites in there! just remember, you are losing weight right now so some things are going to have to be off limits. when you're in the maintenance stage, you can have more regular, planned treats. that's what i keep telilng myself! because the more unplanned treats i have, the longer i'm going to be in the weight loss stage :( i sometimes have a special while dieting treat at starbucks, but i get the vanilla sugar free so it's super low in calories :)

skinnyjeans posted some rules for her diet that seem fitting :) ____Fourth____ make food an event. don't eat standing up, picking food from the fridge. Sit down and eat. Decorate it. Make it enjoyable. ____Fifth______ treat yourself (to food or otherwise). Promise yourself treats and fulfill those promises, otherwise the promise of a treat won't motivate you anymore. If you decide to have chocolate or cake, make sure it's the best cake of your life. Eat it slowly after dinner with a loved one. Enjoy it. Don't pig out on a batch of cheap cookies after a tough day as a treat.

thanks for the advice! i think i have lost sight of the fact that losing weight means giving up some of the things i like!
