Diario de Herbie, 10 jun. 08

Made a good start yesterday: followed SB diet perfectly and got in some decent exercise (20 mins walk, 20 mins swimming laps, and 2 hrs of sweating like crazy in my office when the AC was broken). This morning I was down 2 pounds, which I assume is mostly the quickly lost water weight. Today I did well at breakfast, but then had chinese food for lunch (ate out with my daughter). Not the best choice. I've had 30-40 mins of walking and 20 mins of gardening (before it started pouring down rain), and I will definitely have a SB-style salad for dinner. So, it's not perfect but is a decent start.

We had an amazing and kind of scary thunderstorm here last night. The thunder shook our house, the lightning was audibly crackling and very bright, and the power went out for about five hours. Crazy stuff! Right now things are calm... but I'm not counting on it staying this way.

WOW! when you decide to get moving, you really get moving! Im sure that chinese lunch won't hurt you any with all that activity. Ohhh I love it when it storms and I even like having a power outtage once in a while. I dont' want power outtages to last long enough to defrost my freezer but other than that... have you noticed how it brings people closer together!! Its when i like to open some wine and spend quality time chatting. Hope you didn't have any storm damage

Wow, we had the crazy weather yesterday too, and then the power did flicker off this am, too. Good job on the working out and breakfast! Keep on kickin' butt!

Restaurant Chinese food can be really bad because of all the starch in the sauces. All that great exercise sounds good! Congratulations for making the decision to get back on the saddle!

I'm following you Herbie, you were here before me and always proved keeping things in line was doable. It's totally clear that you have tremendous will power and that you will soon return to your target weight. When I was a kid, I used to love those thunderstorms, I have seen my share of really scary ones (and been really scared). :-)
