Try to deal with social events as real life practice at learning how to exercise moderation. Sometimes you will do great, other times maybe not so great. But each time you succeed will strengthen your confidence at facing the next situation and eventually you will find control to be the norm. Of course, it's extra hard when the parties are one right after another, so don't berate yourself. You will keep at it and the weight will come down. One day at a time.
