Hi all - doing OK. Things are not going as I had planned in life, but in whose life have they? I will be 48 next month but at least my weight is under control. I am thin again and plan to keep it that way and even though I am completely devoid of money in my life presently and since I left home at 19 I am doing what I want, which is the writing and many people can't say they're doing what they want for the rest of their life. I am so looking forward to moving to Arizona this fall. No one will really miss me here, and in a year or two hopefully I'll have new friends from joining a church or something, my friend Dawn moved to FL and met lots of nice people that way.
Vocabulary word of the day: martinet -noun- a strict disciplinarian, especially in the armed forces.--------------- Origin from French General Jean Martinet who was in the army of Louis XIV.

And well you should do what you want Glenn. You have been on your own with no help, so enjoy your life to its fullest. I found that new lease on life and am going to enjoy everything I can. I am glad you are looking so forward to your move and I do hope your life goes "just the way YOU want it to". What part of Florida did Dawn move to? Have a good evening buddy!

Dawn went to Orlando and last I heard settled in the suburb of Tavares. She has family down there. My friend Gail also moved to FL and settled in Melbourne after inheriting her dad's house. She has met lots of nice people there too and has adjusted to the warm weather and I think it has helped her health too. I have had no help from family or friends, so it has been difficult in my adulthood to make ends meet a lot of the time as most get some help - for example my second niece and a nephew are adults and still live at home, and both have good jobs and are adults. I realize if I was gone tomorrow no one would really miss me much, so moving is imperative for my own happiness. No one really calls me to be my friend, usually just to get gas money for their car, etc. It is time to move and nothing is stopping me now... :) Have a great evening...

For anyone who is reading this journal - you're like saying why should anyone help an adult? They shouldn't really. But I got arthritis at 19, which made things quite difficult for me, panic disorder was bothering me from early on too so I could never drive, then at age 32 I had a complete mental breakdown and lost my career. A doctor noted recently I literally had no money from anywhere from 1984-1990, I scraped by believe me. Now things are a bit better so I can move at least. But if one does lose their health in any way if they are single they will - unless wealthy - be in dire straits. It has made me a stronger person. And one who is aware that no one dies carrying a U-Haul attached to their hearse either. In one hundred years it doesn't matter who had more, but more on one's accomplishments, if those even can be considered as mattering... anyway back to dieting, stick with this site, a lot of time stress can cause overeating and getting it out can prevent that...

I derive a not insignificant amount of inspiration from reading your honest words, and your common sense approach to life. Needless to say, I wish you the best in all of your endeavors Glenn.
