SUCCESS JOURNAL

I did my first Cardio Free workout today - pretty easy and really quick. Hey, I think this is going to work! And I LOVE my new little ipod nano. It's the cutest thing ever!! and so easy to take to the gym and just attach to my workout pants. Muy bien! (I was studying my spanish while grunting away with the weights).

I was hungry today and ate a bit over my 1200 cal count. I will figure this out - i just have to keep objective and self-correcting without beating myself up.

I drank a ton of water this afternoon. Estudpendo!

So, how would I be if I were acting in the role of "naturally slender Laura"? I might eat a vegetable soup with a little bit of lean protein like chicken breast when I get hungry in the afternoon. Or bring in an extra helping of 1% cottage cheese with an apple and cinnamon. I might take smaller portions at dinner.

It sure has been helpful to write in the calorie count everyday. No more denial!!

I agree whole heartedly that writing out the calories is beneficial. It is the only thing that is really keeping me accountable. Going slightly over 1200 is not going to set you back unless you let it and you are clearly not going to do that so don't think about it for another second. Ipod's are fantastic and soon enough you will be listening to audio books, podcasts, news reports, and music...I am addicted to mine :) keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!

thanks Steph. Yeah, i already own an 80 gb video ipod, but it was just too bulky to lug around the gym. I am totally addicted to that thing! I use it every day for podcasts, news, spanish lessons, you name it. That's why I had to get a baby ipod - I can't live without it esp. for working out. And, as far as the calorie count goes, it's such a huge step for me to be so "public" and be so accountable. My main goal is to have "relaxed intent" around it. Just be objective without an emotional charge (ie being critical with myself). Taking the pressure off and still going for a goal is a completely new concept for me. Even tho i have done buddhist meditation retreats, I didn't see b4 how I could apply those same "not be attached" concepts to weight loss. Now I get it!
